The Walbrook Club

Welcome to the City’s only family-run private members' club. The Walbrook opened in 2000 in a Queen Anne-style townhouse built as the family offices of prominent property developers Rudolph Palumbo, who had a hand in designing the building, and his son Lord Peter Palumbo. The third generation of the Palumbo family is now running the show.

Enviably located in the heart of the bustling Square Mile, the Club stands directly next door to the Mansion House, NM Rothschild, Bloomberg's European Headquarters and the Bank of England. The interiors are by the late, great Mark Birley of the original Mark’s Club, Harry’s Bar and of course Annabel’s, and the kitchens were run by the legendary chef Albert Roux of Le Gavroche. The idea was to introduce beautiful rooms and delicious food to a part of London, the Square Mile, traditionally considered to be starved of both. There is the Bar, Dining Room and two private rooms.

Since day one, Membership has been open to men and women on an equal basis.

Being family-run, each painting, picture and stick of furniture has a story behind it. When taken together these eclectic pieces, lovingly chosen, inform the Club's warm atmosphere. The architecture of the space lends itself to meeting fellow Members since the Club’s style, ethos and proportions are those of a private townhouse. The vaunted guest speaker series, rolling now across the decades, must also be seen to be believed.

The Walbrook is, above all, discreet, elegant and welcoming, underpinned by attentive service and stays true to the highest standards of fine dining. There is simply nowhere like it.
