Some of the great many advantages

City Breakfasts, Lunches & Dinner

The Club’s intriguing list of speakers includes former, present and future heads of state, leading politicians, titans of industry and cultural icons. The Chatham House Rule is very strictly applied and the Q&A element is invariably lively and engaging.

Bond Court Dinners

To a revolving host policy, these dinners introduce Junior to Seniors Members on a long table reminiscent of a dinner party.

Games Nights

Backgammon, chess and cards evenings for all abilities take place over cocktails and dinner, with good conversation assured.

Shooting syndicate

Both clay and game shoots are organised throughout the year and an annual dinner for Members and guests, alongside the highly anticipated Junior-Seniors clay shoot (and ensuing off-site marathon lunch).

Fine wine dinners

Since 2000, the proprietors of prestigious châteaux of, amongst a constellation of others, including Château Lafite Rothschild, Château Mouton-Rothschild, Château Haut-Brion, Domaine de Chevalier, Léoville Barton, Vieux Château Certan, Château Figeac and Château d’Yquem, have made vertical tastings and presentations of their respective wines. At these special occasions, a five-course dinner accompanies the rare vintages on show.

Conducting business

There are no arcane restrictions on conducting business or meetings, aside from being mindful of Members wishing to relax. Members are asked to place phone calls in the hallway; otherwise, working is perfectly allowed.

Reciprocal clubs

Reciprocity at a burgeoning network of handpicked sister clubs around the world and UK are available to Members.

Spousal Membership

In return for a nominal fee, and in a nod to being family-run, spouses can become Members with full access to the Club.

And, of course, access to beautiful rooms

Members gain access to a stunning Dining Room, two private rooms and one of the most atmospheric Bars around. The Membership list is friendly and impressive: you never know who you may meet but there are no appalling surprises.

Meanwhile, room hire is non-applicable to Members with the exceptions of hire of the Dining Room at lunchtime where a nominal fee applies, and between mid-November until after Christmas. A minimum spend applies depending on the room and time of day.
