Responsibility
The Walbrook takes its responsibility to society and its Membership seriously. For instance:
Through a varied calendar of events, the Club candidly meets topical issues of national and international importance head-on.
Although apolitical, the Club believes in the power of dialogue and where necessary dismantling different perspectives.
The Company is a registered voter in the City of London Ward of Walbrook.
Since day one in May 2000, Membership has been open to men and women equally.
Around 30% of the entire Membership is aged under-35.
In compliance with regulations and to protect Members’ privacy, the Club is GDPR compliant. Likewise, events are hosted under the Chatham House Rule.
The roofscape has been turned into a safe haven for bees and other pollinators by planting a wildflower bed and building a bee hotel and apiary.
The Club recycles and uses environmentally friendly materials and processes.
There are gluten free dishes on the à la carte and Chef prepares expansive and inventive vegan and vegetarian menus. All ingredients are sourced sustainably, seasonally and, where possible, locally.
Throughout the pandemic, the Club robustly followed to the letter and spirit Government COVID-19 restrictions.
We are an equal opportunity employer.
The Club strives to fill the spaces in between. There is always room to improve, which makes the future all the more exciting!
